 >I was just in Sam's and noticed they had bulk yeast

I use Fleishman's instant active from Sam's regularly.

Instant active is very similar to rapid-rise.
Fleishman's is careful to point out that 'rapid-rise' is a trademark of a
competitor.

use 1/2 tsp per cup of flour in your recipe.
store tightly sealed if fridge for 6 mo or freeze for a year+. You want to
keep any moisture out.

i keep mine in a jar in the freezer. It lasts for YEARS.
my only complaint is that Fleishman's doesn't seem to work well on sweet
doughs esp. made w/ honey. I keep some RedStar dry yeast on hand for that
(several years old and still working).
