                           Italian Herb Bread <J T>

                          1 1/2 lb loaf:
    3        tablespoons  olive oil
    1              clove  garlic, pressed -- (to 2)
    1 1/2      teaspoons  dried basil
       3/4      teaspoon  dried oregano
       1/4      teaspoon  dried rosemary
       1/2      teaspoon  dried thyme
       3/4           cup  water
    6        tablespoons  milk
    1 1/2      teaspoons  sugar

                          1 lb loaf:
    2        tablespoons  olive oil
    1              clove  garlic, pressed -- (to 2)
    1          teaspoons  dried basil
       1/2      teaspoon  dried oregano
       1/4      teaspoon  dried rosemary
       1/4      teaspoon  dried thyme
       1/2           cup  water
    4        tablespoons  milk
    1          teaspoons  sugar

Heat oil in a small skillet.  Add the garlic and herbs.  Saute for 2 
min, taking care not to let the garlic scorch or it will turn 
bitter.  If necessary, remove the pan from the stove.  The herbs will 
continuing cooking in the oil's heat.

Put the herb oil and remaining ingredients in bread pan in order 
suggested by your bread machine instructions.  Set for white bread, 
medium crust.  Press Start.
