I have no idea if this would work or not but I would try baking a 
couple of trash loaves of bread to see if that would remove the 
odor.  The offensive odor would "go into" the bread.  I know when I 
bake something sweet in my regular oven the next time I turn it on to 
preheat I get a scent of that sweet odor but after baking the savory 
dish, the sweet smell is gone.  I hope it works if you choose to try it.
