Inactive yeast

I have tried other sources to see if there is something I can do to use 
some Red Star yeast that is no longer active.  Can it be eaten alone as 
something that adds to the vitamin or mineral content in the body, or added 
to foods other than wanting it to raise bread products?

Seems a shame to toss out the amount I have.
